IN 2014, Rob and Cindy formed Strong Island Films and together their focus has been on true crime. They produced the critically acclaimed documentary “My Uncle is the Green River Killer” for Lifetime Movie Network, “The Real Story with Maria Elena Salinas” for Discovery ID, they brought the hit podcast “UP and Vanished” to the Oxygen Network and “Florida Man Murders”. In 2021, their documentary “Making an Exoneree” has been hitting the international film festival circuit by storm with 10 nominations and 8 wins for Best Feature Documentary.
Making an Exoneree follows 16 undergraduate Georgetown University students over the course of a semester while they re-investigate wrongful convictions and successfully get one of the men released from prison after 27 years and will be available to stream later this year.
Cindy is an award winning television producer/writer/director producing content for CBS, FOX, AMC, DISCOVERY ID, A&E, LMN, NAT GEO, NAT GEO WILE, BBC, FRANCE TELEVISION, HISTORY CHANNEL, DISCOVERY UK, ANIMAL PLANET. A NY native Cindy studied Film/TV at Emerson College and then headed to LA to pursue filmmaking. She shot her first short film under the guidance of American History X producer John Hess and then quickly became involved in feature film development at all the major studios. She was involved in the development of several motion pictures such as “Minority Report” and “Bel-Ami” and the television series “Bones.”. Cindy sold her first feature screenplay on spec to Sony Pictures. Cindy began producing non-fiction television on the award winning AMC series Backstory and went on to produce and direct over 200 hours of non-fiction television programing including the Emmy winning “Countdown to the Grammy’s” for CBS and award winner “Mayan Blue” for National Geographic Channel. While living in France, Cindy worked as a broadcast journalist at France 24 and covered African politics for France O. After moving to London she produced and directed the acclaimed documentaries““ROUGH SEAS” with Paul Watson, and the award winning documentary “ONE GIRL” and “WOMEN ON WAR” featuring the women reporters in Libya during the fall of Gaddafi. Cindy is the former Co-Chair of the Producers Guild of America Board Washington DC region, a member of the Television academy, BAFTA NY and Women in Film and Television UK.
Rob is an award winning Executive Producer, Director, Showrunner and writer who has been responsible for over 400 hours of television programming over the last 15 years for FOX, DISCOVERY, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, MSNBC, A&E, COURT TV, CBS, SPIKE-TV, HGTV, PBS, TLC, TRAVEL CHANNEL, ANIMAL PLANET, G4, MTV, ESPN, TRU-TV, SYFY, DISCOVERY ID, NAT GEO WILD, HISTORY, APPLE TV. Rob has extensive experience with law enforcement and the true crime genre. Rob has interviewed two of the world’s most notorious serial killers: Charles Manson and Gary Ridgeway. One of the original producers for “LOCKUP” MSNBC, “Crime 360” A&E, he co-created “Squad Car Confessions” and “CUFF’D” for Fox Reality and MTV-Viacom. He won a Telly Award for his first documentary “Journeys to Remember” for the Travel Channel. He also covered the war in Afghanistan for MSNBC months after 9/11 and was nominated for an Emmy on “Sports Science” for ESPN. Rob is responsible for making the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) a household name and was also the executive producer on the highly rated “Human Wrecking Balls” for G4 and “Invention USA” for the History Channel.
